Turning 65?

Congratulations on reaching this major milestone! This is a very exciting time and now more than ever, you want to make sure you are making the best choices regarding your Medicare options. This can also be a very confusing time. The biggest complaint we hear from seniors is in regards to the huge amount of mail and phone calls they receive. How do you make sense of it all and make the best choices? By working with a broker that will make sure you are getting the best plan at the best price to fit your unique needs.

As independent brokers, we work for YOU...NOT the insurance companies. We will shop across companies to make sure you are getting great value and effective coverage.

Something else that is very important when selecting a broker is to make sure this person will stay with you after your initial plan selection to answer questions throughout the year and do annual reviews to make sure you continue to have great rates based your unique situation. This is a complimentary service that we provide to our clients. We are here to provide you with the knowledge and the tools to help you make informed decisions NOW and in the FUTURE. A Few Things To Consider

Turning 65 means that you are in what is called "initial enrollment” for Medicare and “Open Enrollment” for Medicare supplements. This means that you can choose most plans without being subjected to medical underwriting questions. In most states, you can choose a plan up to 6 months before your 65th birthday. Original Medicare has deductibles, and co-insurance. It only covers 80% of your part-B expenses and has no cap to your out of pocket expenses. You will want to either choose a plan that puts a cap in place to your out of pocket spending and / or covers the 20% that Medicare does not cover. You will also want to choose a Part D drug plan now, even if you do not take any drugs. This will avoid a late enrollment penalty should you elect a plan at a later date. We will be sure to walk you through the entire process to make sure you understand the options to fit your needs and make sure you have a full understanding of how your plan choice works.
